Janice Kay Jobe Sheffield

Janice Kay Jobe Sheffield, 74, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Kay was born February 26, 1950, to Charles Edger Jobe and Willie Mae Edwards. She grew up in the Plantersville and Nettleton area. Kay and her family were members of Temple Grove Baptist Church, where she took a profession of faith in baptism. In 1968, Kay graduated from Nettleton High School. Kay had many passions including reading, Ole Miss sports, working puzzles, shopping, and spending as much time at the beach as possible. Although Kay was a proud ovarian cancer survivor, it was her witty and infectious personality that stood out the most. She always brought joy to those around her.

Kay leaves behind her son, Luke Sheffield and his wife, Melissa, of Franklin, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Legend Sheffield, Light Sheffield, and Loyal Sheffield; two sisters, Mary Christopher of Brewer Community, and Jenett Ruth Rochester of Manchester, Tennessee; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers-in-laws, David Christopher, and David Rochester.

Services honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Sunday October 27, 2024, at Plantersville United Methodist Church. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.
