Funeral services for Ms. Janice Jenkins age 84 of Auburn, formerly of Clay County, will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Pastor Kevin Acre officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.

She was born and raised in Clay County and graduated from Clay County High School. She had worked for several years as a bookkeeper, worked for the Birmingham Stock Exchange, and then retired from Auburn University as a switch board operator with over 18 years of service. Janice enjoyed shopping, traveling, spending quality time with her family, going out to eat and was especially fond of her sweet tea.

Her survivors include her two granddaughters; Anna Hopper (Brennan) of Auburn and Blair Jenkins of Villa Rica, her great-granddaughter; Charlotte Hopper, daughter in law; Tammy Naylon (John) of Villa Rica and numerous nieces, nephews plus a very large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Robert Alvin Jenkins and Inez Ware Jenkins, her son; Michael Dale Jenkins, five sisters; Mary Frances Griffin, Juanita G. Stewart, Elizabeth G. Latham, Margaret G. Strickland, and Ann McKay, also five brothers; Bill, Charlie, Pete, Harold, and Jerry Griffin.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland on Sunday January 12, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
