Janice Elaine Richardson, a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 88, at Northbrooke Healthcare and Rehab with her loving family by her side.
She was born on December 17, 1935, in Greenville, Pennsylvania the daughter of Ralph and Anna Louise Uber Osborne. Janice lived a life marked by her devotion to family, faith, and community.
Janice was known for her vibrant personality and outgoing nature. She had a remarkable career as a Financial Secretary with Meridian Baptist Church, where her contributions to the church community were invaluable. Additionally, she served as a Mary Kay Consultant, embracing her passion for beauty and helping others feel confident.
A graduate of Penn High School in Greenville, PA, Janice carried her educational foundation into her adult life, continually striving for excellence in everything she did. She was an avid crocheter, finding joy in creating handmade pieces that brought warmth and comfort to her loved ones. An enthusiastic camper, she enjoyed spending time in nature and was a proud member of the “Good Sams Club,” where she cultivated lasting friendships and shared joyful experiences.
Janice was the cherished daughter of Ralph and Anna Louise Uber, who preceded her in death as well as, her husband Frank Richardson in 2021, a son Melvin “Dewey” Rearick II in 1962 and a daughter, Hilda Rearick Jones in 2017.
She is survived by her children: Barbara Beiter and her husband Bill, Shannon Hutcherson and her husband Mike, Sherri Uhde, Sonya Qudus, and Mark Rearick and wife Kim. She is also survived by her sister, Cathy Louise Dorus, and her ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild who were the light of her life.
The legacy of love that Janice leaves behind will be honored during the visitation and funeral service at Meridian Baptist Church on Monday, October 28, 2024. The family will be receiving friends on Monday, October 28, 2024, beginning at 12:00 p.m. continuing until the service time of 2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers for the service will be Larry Murley, Michael Hutcherson, Kaleb Hutcherson, Derrick Brooks, Austin Swafford and Michael Barry.
