Janice Dorsett, age 75 of Pleasant Valley, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Dorsett; and sisters, Betty, Helen and Jodi.
Janice is survived by her son, Rodney McSheridan (Leslie); step son, Scott Dorsett (Ashley); step daughter, Robin Mackey (Eric); grandchildren, Josh McSheridan, Sam McSheridan, Bryant McSheridan, Brock McSheridan, Matt McSheridan, Tanner Dorsett, Chandler Dorsett, Logan Williamson, Christopher Mackey, Brandon Mackey and John Curtis Mackey (Teagan); and great grandchildren, Wrylee McSheridan and Wrenlee McSheridan.
Janice was born in Bridgeport, CT, on April 1, 1949. She moved to Alabama in the early 1960’s, then to California for a few years before returning to Alabama in 1968. She has been a resident of Pleasant Valley for the past 35 years. She enjoyed cooking, hosting family events and dinners, gardening, and being active with her grandchildren.
