Janet Townson, 68, of Guntersville, passed away Monday, September 20th, 2021, at her home with her devoted husband Charles by her side. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23rd, 2021 at 2:00 pm, at Marshall Memorial Funeral Home with Pastor Joey Croft officiating. Burial will follow afterwards at Marshall Memorial Gardens.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents JB and Faye Selby; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Charlie and Flossie Townson; sister-in-law Elizabeth Townson and brother-in-law Ronald Townson.
Janet was born in Kenedy, Texas and raised in South Louisiana where her daddy worked on an oil rig. The family finally put down roots in Alabama, where she graduated from Geraldine High School.
Janet met the dashing Charles Townson in 1974 and he swept her off her feet when they got married in December of 1974. Janet worked at TS Tech where she started as a supervisor, then moved to Human Resources and finally as the receptionist. She retired from TS Tech in 2018 and enjoyed her retirement working in her flowerbeds.
Janet was a member of Southside United Methodist Church, where she taught several classes of the girl’s Sunday School Classes. Charles and Janet were fixtures of the church, being members for 31 years.
Janet is survived by the love of her life Charles Townson; her sisters Shan Raymond; Carolyn Combs and Trigger and Missi Moore and her husband Jamie; her brother’s-in-law: Jimmy Townson; Kenneth Townson; and Gary Townson and his wife Kelly; and her beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 23rd from 12:00 pm until the start of the service.
