Janet Freeman, 75 of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, at her residence. Mrs. Freeman was born on February 24th, 1949, in Athens, to Leonard and Flora Barksdale Berzett.
Mrs. Freeman is survived by her husband of 59 years, Jerry Freeman; children Dural “Peewee” and Malinda Freeman, of Springhill, TN, James and Celesta Freeman, of Huntsville, and Dennis Freeman, of Athens; grandchildren Zac, Jake, Nick, Lyric, Chris, and Brooklyn; 6 great-grandchildren; sister Shirley Freeman (Bill), of Oden Ridge, AL; and puppy dog Coco.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service for Mrs. Freeman will be Saturday, June 29th, 2024, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home.
Mrs. Freeman was a special lady. She enjoyed cooking, working puzzles, and reading. But she dearly loved her kids and grandkids. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Limestone County.
