Janet Edna Wille Schultz – Obituary

 Janet Edna Wille Schultz, 83 of Florence, AL passed away Friday, October 12, 2018. after an extended illness.

Mrs. Schultz was a native of Horicon, WI. She was baptized on May 19, 1935 and confirmed on March 21, 1948, both at St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Horicon, WI.  She later married James John Schultz on April 7, 1956 and has lived in Florence since 1966. She was a devout member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church where she served in numerous capacities, including Sunday school teacher, Ladies Guild Treasurer, and supporter of mission projects and service events.   She loved volunteering at Glenwood Nursing Home where she visited with the residents and assisted with recreational activities.  She was awarded Alabama Volunteer of the Year in 2002.  She and her husband enjoyed doing everything together, including trapshooting, traveling and fishing until his death in 2002.

She was also preceded in death by her father, Gustav Wille; mother, Hattie Albrecht Wille; brothers, Melvin and Arden Wille; sisters, Marion Jones and Arlene Walters.

Survivors include her daughters, Judy Miner (Steve) of Smyrna, TN and Joann Loy (Kenny) of Madison, AL; son, Jimmy Schultz (Lea Anne) of Huntsville; five grandchildren, three step grandchildren, one great grandson, one great granddaughter and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 Visitation will be held Sunday, October 14, 2018 from 2-3:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.  The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Chris Biernacki and Rev. David Doroh officiating.  Interment will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
