Janet Diane Morgan went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 16, 2024. She was surrounded by family and friends at this time. And she spent her first night in Heaven with both of her Fathers- on Father’s Day.

Diane was born on May 21, 1962, to David C. and Fay Jenell Morgan. She grew up in Huntsville, AL and was a 1980 graduate of Huntsville High School. Following graduation, she relocated to California to pursue professional voice lessons, and to hone her natural, God given talents. After a year she returned to Alabama to begin her college education, completing her studies at Auburn University in 1985. She was also a proud member of the Chi Omega sorority.

Diane served as Activities Director for Post Properties in Atlanta for the majority of her career. This position took her on many amazing adventures- such as trips to Australia and Switzerland. It also allowed her to share her energy and zest for life with the community she served. Her continued passion for singing led her to continue singing in bands throughout the years and to perform in the “Little Bit O’Country” shows at Six Flags over Georgia. She also blessed countless weddings with the beauty of her voice.

Diane’s love for her family, friends, and fur babies was immeasurable. She loved deeply. She was the biggest fan and fiercest supporter of those she held dear. She could brighten anyone’s day with that contagious laugh and upbeat attitude no matter her circumstances. She always made others feel special whether she knew them for 30 minutes or 30 years.

Everyone who knew Diane knew how much she loved Auburn – orange and blue forever. During her down days she always found sheer joy and happiness watching tapes of old Auburn basketball and football games. During her battle with cancer, Auburn sports always provided her that escape.

She was preceded in death by her father, David C. Morgan. Survivors include her mother, Fay Jenell Morgan; sister Dawn Morgan Reynolds (Wes); and brother Scott Morgan (Mary). She was the best aunt to her niece, Morgan Reynolds, and nephew, Jake Reynolds, who she absolutely adored.

The family would like to share a special thanks to the loving and caring nurses at Huntsville Hospital, Teresa and Lane. Your concern, tenderness and empathy not only served Diane immeasurably, but offered the support so needed by her loved ones throughout her stay. We are blessed for knowing you.

Diane was a true believer in Jesus Christ and always continued to strive for a closer relationship with her Lord and Savior. She is now safe in the arms of her Heavenly Father. As stated by a dear friend, “One day, we shall see Diane again and when we do, there will never be another “goodbye”.

Visitation services will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 5 – 7 pm at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. Services

will be held Friday, June 21, 2024 at 11:30 am in Laughlin’s chapel followed by the burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

Immediately following the graveside service, a celebration of Diane’s Life will be held at Revivalist located at 106 Jefferson Street South, Huntsville, AL.
