Janet Darleen Dickerscheid – Obituary

DICKERSCHEID, JANET DARLEEN, of Florence, Alabama went to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, October 26, 2016. The daughter of Stanley William Bauer and Elsa Louise Bauer, she was born on February 16, 1929 in Hamilton, Ohio.

She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1947 and attended classes at the University of North Alabama in Florence. On July 26, 1952 she married James Lee Dickerscheid and enjoyed 64 joyful years of marriage.

She is survived by her husband, son Paul Bauer Dickerscheid (Sherry), daughter Ann Dickerscheid Zarzour (Peyton), grandchildren Michael Dickerscheid (Susan), Jason Dickerscheid (Mandy), Meagan Dickerscheid, Morgan Dickerscheid, Neal Zarzour (Jessica) , Barton Zarzour (Amy), Ashley Zarzour, and Hannah Zarzour, along with 7 great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and sang in the choir for many years. Janet was a devoted Christian who read her bible each morning. She thoroughly enjoyed exercising in aerobics classes, walking the neighborhood with friends, and attending water exercise classes at the YMCA. She was creative and found pleasure in ceramics, sewing, and knitting.

Janet gave strength to all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed by all whose lives she blessed.

The family would like to thank Alice Carter, Gloria Coman, and Gentiva Hospice for their help and loving care.

Funeral services will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Florence, Alabama on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00. Following the service, the family will receive friends at the church. Burial will follow on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 11:00 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church or the YMCA Building Fund
