Janet Clarke Moret, 70, passed away September 19, 2024, at her home in Huntsville, Alabama surrounded by her family. She was born in Wharton, Texas to Frederick and Jeanette Clarke. Her childhood was spent in south Louisiana and Texas. She graduated from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette (formerly USL) where she met her husband, Rene. They married in August of 1976. In 1988, she, her husband, and their three children moved to Huntsville.

Her love of children inspired her to work at First United Methodist Church playschool for several years. She was actively involved in her children’s school activities, serving as room mother and Girl Scout leader, among many others.

She loved entertaining and is fondly remembered by her many friends. She was an avid college football fan (Geaux Tigers!). As most of her friends are Alabama fans, she persevered through watching/attending many LSU-Alabama games with them (which often fell on or close to her birthday).

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Patrick. She is survived by her husband, Rene; children, Ryan and Claire Moret; granddaughter, Scarlett Moret; sister, Leslie Coe (Bill); brother-in-law, Vernon Moret Jr.; sister-in-law, Michelle Todd (Mike) and their three children, Jennifer Todd, Stephen Todd, and Katherine “Kakin” Nichols (Bryan).

The family would like to give special thanks to the MICU staff at Crestwood Hospital for their dedication and loving care to Janet and her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of your choice

A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at The Episcopal Church of Nativity with Rev. Michael Goldsmith.
