Mrs. Jane (Young) Lee Buford, 69, of Meridianville, AL, passed away June 10, 2024, with her devoted and loving husband, Robyn Buford, by her side. She fought hard against a very sudden and unexpected illness.
Jane was born May 9, 1955, to the late Willard and Rebecca Young. Her parents raised her to have a strong work ethic and a servant’s heart. Just like her mother, Jane would welcome everyone to the party like family and fed them just the same. You often found her in the kitchen cooking delicious food in absurd quantities while questioning if it will be any good (it always was), and sent everyone home with a to-go box.
Jane truly was one of a kind. She met her late husband, Ronnie Lee, at Talladega Speedway. While he was at work, she would ride his motorcycle around the yard after he lovingly told her not to. On the other hand, you would never catch her without her jewelry, especially her signature pearl necklace.
After Ronnie’s unexpected passing in 1997, she proved her strength and resilience as she raised their two young boys, Bryan (known to some as Andrew) and Seth. She taught them anything was possible if they set their mind to it by going to school and earning her Associate’s Degree and starting her own interior decorating business.
She eventually met her best friend, Robyn Buford, who stepped up to love and care for her boys as his own. Just the same, Jane loved and cared for his two girls, Shelby and Haley. They married in 2005 and shared many adventures, laughs, and eye rolls over the years.
When Jane wasn’t cooking up a storm or sewing, she was flipping and remodeling with Robyn. Her ability to spot overlooked potential led to many of her greatest projects, but also played into her empathetic spirit. You always felt at home in her presence.
Jane’s greatest pride and joy, however, were her 7 grandchildren; Jacie and Lilly, Dalton and Cora, Nolan and Abby, and Turner. She was often followed by a parade of squeals for Nana.
Her treasured loved ones also included her daughters-in-law Melissa and Sally; son-in-law Brian; siblings Brenda, Sandra, Shirley, David, and late brother Arnie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
They will receive friends at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville on Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Funeral services will be at Spry Funeral Home on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:00am with Bro. Stan Stevenson officiating. Interment will be at Stateline Cemetery following the funeral services.
