Jane Stutts entered her heavenly home on Sunday, May 28, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband and family at the age of 85.
She was the daughter of Alma Lois Darty and Travis Weeks, was born April 26, 1938. She married Tommy Stutts December 18, 1955. Jane was the mother of three children Gary (Amy) Stutts, Sheila Stutts, and Jeff (Beverly) Stutts, and the grandmother of seven grandchildren – Joseph (Brooke) Weaver, Emily Stutts, Andrew (May) Stutts, Allison (Caleb) Currie, Johnathan Sutton, Chrystal Moore, and Jacinda Pounds. Jane was the great – grandmother of Jaycee Kinchen and Elizabeth Weaver, and great – great grandmother of Brayden and Cash Kinchen
and Easton and Knox Truett.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother and father, her brothers, Billy (Sylvia Jane) Weeks and James (Judy) Weeks, and her sister, Ann (Barry) Adams.
Jane was faithful to her family. As a young bride, she followed Tommy to New York in support of his army career. By the time they returned home to West TN, she was the mother of three children. She worked in the home, raising her children and supporting Tommy throughout his role as pastor and engineer with the state.
Later in life, she became Nana, keeping her grandchildren until they went to school. Even then, she remained heavily involved in the lives of her grandchildren, who were fortunate enough to see her nearly every day.
Jane will be remembered as the family matriarch who loved her family above all else, who made the best sweet tea, cooked the best meals, devotedly served her church, and faithfully honored the Lord.
SERVICES: A funeral service for Jane will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, in the chapel of Arrington Funeral Directors. The Burial will follow in Browns Cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends beginning at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Arrington Funeral Directors and continuing until the service time of 2:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be family members, Gary Stutts, Jeff Stutts, Andrew Stutts, Glenn Penny, Caleb Curry, and Bo Beard.
