Jane Stewart passed away peacefully on October 20, 2017. Jane was born to Martha Eugenia Cole Hogan and Jasper Hogan in Macon, Georgia. Jane graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Georgia, and loved being a chemistry professor at Wesleyan College until she married Frank in 1950. She spent most of her adult life on Monte Sano in Huntsville Alabama where she was a homemaker and Sunday school teacher at Trinity and Monte Sano Methodist churches for over 60 years. She was a devoted Christian who was well loved by her many friends and students in the church community.
She was preceded in death by her husband Francis (Frank) M. Stewart, III and brothers JT Hogan, Jr. and Wallace Hogan. Survivors include her son Frank IV (Naomi), daughter Cynthia (Art Johnson) and step-granddaughter Rachel Hergett.
Graveside services will be held on October 25 at 1 pm at Highview Cemetery in Gray, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Monte Sano Methodist Church or Hospice Family Care of Huntsville.
