Jane Simpson Gray passed Thursday June 27, 2024 at her home after extended illness.
She was born August 11, 1941 in Limestone County to Robert and Lena (Davis) Simpson.
There will be a 3PM Graveside Service Sunday at Hester’s Cemetery with Randy Adams officiating.
Visitation is Sunday 1PM until 2PM at Spry Funeral Home in Athens.
Jane is survived by her son, Tim Gray (Rhonda King); nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by husband, James A. Gray; and son, Terry M. Gray; parents, Robert Forrest and Lena Catherine Simpson; brothers; Walter Howard Simpson, Jerry Dalton Simpson, Joseph Thomas Simpson and James Robert Simpson; sisters; Lois Catherine Simpson Edwards, Olevia Juanita Simpson Crowe, Margie Esther Simpson Goodin and Ella Louise Simpson Younger.
Jane was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She attended New Hope Church of Christ as long as health permitted. She worked as a dental hygienist in Athens, Al for many years. She was a talented lady who enjoyed painting, crafts, decorating and sewing. She loved flowers and liked landscaping her home with them.
The family would like to extend gratitude to Hospice of Limestone County and a special thank you to her nurses and sitters (Carolyn and Sharon) who became like family. Their care and support of Jane and the family allowed her to remain in the home she loved throughout her life.
