Jane Pope Blake, 97, of Decatur, AL passed away on January 5, 2025. She was born February 26, 1927 in Birmingham, AL. Jane was a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Interior Design – School of Architecture. While at Auburn she held the office of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority President. Jane met her husband, Bernard S. Blake Jr., at Auburn and married in 1949 in Georgiana, AL. She was a homemaker, volunteer, Sunday school teacher, sewing/tailoring instructor, a great cook, and helped sell shoes at son Steve’s shoe store.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Jane’s memories will be cherished by her two sons, Steve Blake (Claudia) and Paul Blake; daughter, Patty Doss (Bo); grandchildren, Tyler Blake, Adam Blake (Laura), and Brandon Hill, and great-grandsons, Charlie Blake and Sam Blake.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother.
Jane was a member of St Andrew Presbyterian Church and Decatur First United Methodist Church.
The family extends a special thanks for the staff at Westminster Assisted Living, Decatur, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, Decatur, AL.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. Celebration of Life will be at 1:00 pm in the chapel.
