Funeral services for Mrs. Jane Nelson Brown, age 65 of Delta, will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Clay County Memory Gardens at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Benny Morrison officiating.
Mrs. Brown passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Clay County Hospital. She was born and raised in Randolph County, and upon graduating high school, she worked at a number of jobs. She worked mainly as a seamstress at Roberson’s Sewing Plant and Hurley’s sewing plant in Wedowee, and also at Higgin’s Slacks for over 10 years. She also worked as the Kitchen supervisor at N.H.C. Healthcare in Anniston, and as the main cook at the Talladega Deaf and Blind School before retiring. Outside of work, all of her time was spent entertaining and being with her two lovely granddaughters.
She is survived by her daughter: Heather Turley (James Dutton Jr) of Delta; two step-children: Regina Sorrell of Roanoke and Frank Brown Jr. of Arkansas; two granddaughters: Abby and Kailey Turley of Delta; one brother: Jimmy Nelson of Heflin and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Thomas L. Nelson and Lovinia Morrison; her husband, Frank O’Neal Brown Sr; and one brother, Wayne Nelson.
Active Pallbearers will be Greg Clark, Patrick McCary, C.J. Hayes, Dustin Farrow, James Dutton Jr., and Ted Mitchell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Leon Rogers.
Her visitation will take place on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, and until 1:30 PM at the funeral home.
