Jane Marie Sawyer Balmut

Jane Marie Sawyer Balmut, 86, of Huntsville, passed away on Sunday, June 23. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Benjamin Balmut, her father Peter John Sawyer, her mother Elizabeth McMahon Sawyer, her brother Thomas Sawyer, and grandson Gavin Michael Balmut. She is survived by her brother Richard Douglas Sawyer of Anniston, her seven children: Robert Jr. (Patricia) of Orange Beach, Elizabeth (Ronald) Liedel of Huntsville, John (Gayle) of Alabaster, James (Laura) of Sparks, NV, Mary (John) Holm of Meridianville, Theresa (Terrance) Roth of Huntsville, and Margaret (Mark) Tillman of Huntsville. She is also survived by her 18 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Rite of Catholic Burial Mass will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday, July 1, at 10:00 AM. The family will receive friends at Holy Spirit Catholic Church one hour prior to the Burial Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Catholic Charities, PO Box 12047, Birmingham, AL 35202. She will be laid to rest at Huntsville Memorial Gardens.
