Jane Cain Monroe, 81, of Huntsville passed away on Wednesday. Jane was born and raised in Madison County. She graduated from Huntsville High School and attended Auburn University. Jane was active in many civic organizations including the Grace Club Auxiliary, Antiquarian Society, Huntsville Garden Club and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, H.E. “Gene” Monroe, Jr. and her son, H. E. “Skip” Monroe III. She is survived by her son, Bob Monroe and wife, Robin and two grandsons, John and William Monroe.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at Mrs. Monroe’s home at 1 Adams Alley. A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. William “Bill” Bostick officiating.
