Mrs. Jan V. Ehleben age 83 died on Monday, June 07, 2021, at her home in Rock Island, TN. She retired from teaching in 2001 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in McMinnville. Jan was a kindergarten teacher for many years with the Warren County School system, was an active member of various roles in the Methodist Church: Maranatha Youth Group, a Sunday School teacher, Emmaus Walk leader, and Prayer Shawl Ministry; and participated in the Good Neighbor program. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph F., Sr. and Geneva Von Almen, husband Douglas Ehleben, son Mark Ehleben, and brother Joseph F. Von Almen, Jr.
Jan is survived by her daughters Alice (Grady) Parton and Laura (Frank) Avila, special nephew Martin (Amy) Von Almen, niece Laura (Denman) Frazier, daughter-in-law Robyn Ehleben, grandchildren Nathan McCormick, Douglas Parton, Jason (Ellen) Ehleben, and Joe (Rachel) Ehleben, 5 great-grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren and wonderful caregivers Rebecca Bivins, J.W. Bivins and Robin Rudicel.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Outreach Building of First United Methodist Church in McMinnville, TN. Rev. Denman Frazier and Rev. Doug Pennington will officiate. The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the Outreach Building of First United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Prayer Shawl Ministry or to the Good Neighbor Program both in care of First United Methodist Church, 200 W. Main St., McMinnville, TN 37110.
