Watson-North Funeral Home is honored to be of service and ministry to the family of Jan Sutherland. Mrs. Sutherland passed from this life October 27, 2018 at the Willows of Winchester. A native of Chicago, IL, she had made her home in Franklin County since 1980. She served the firm of Swafford, Peters and Priest and Hall as a legal secretary until her retirement in 1996. As an avid reader and crossword puzzle enthusiast she developed unbelievable vocabulary. She was a Beatles fan and loved to sing the song “I Want to Hold Your Hand” as she held the hands of her daughters. Mrs. Sutherland is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Al Sutherland; her mother, Dorothy De Lassus Carty and her father, James William Carty; sister, Arlene Schiveley. She is survived by her daughters, Rae Woodard of Norcross, GA and Billie (Barry) Dillingham of Rockvale, TN; brother, Ted Wing of Fayetteville. No services are planned at this time.
