F.4.3.25 Jan Brantly.jpg Jan Sharon (Snell) Brantly, 83, of Indianapolis, IN, went peacefully to be with her Lord on Saturday, March 29, 2025, surrounded by her family, after a long illness. She was born August 5, 1941, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late Thomas Ralph, Sr., and Ruby Lee (Eley) Snell.

Jan graduated from Mars Hill Bible School, Florence, AL, and David Lipscomb College, Nashville, TN, where she met her husband, James M. (Jim) Brantly. She was a faithful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who loved people well. Above all, she was a selfless and faithful servant of the Lord.

She is survived by her loving husband of more than 61 years, Jim Brantly; their children, Carole (Duwain) Houston, Kevin (Theresa) Brantly, Kerry (Shelley) Brantly, Krista Brantly, Chad (Elisa) Brantly, Kent (Amber) Brantly, and beloved nephew, Nathan (Tracy) Snell; their grandchildren, Brantly, Callie, Kendall (Khalil Cavil), and Cason Houston; Coral, Landon (Sophie), Collin, and Tara Brantly; Sydney and Shelby Brantly; and Ruby and Stephen Brantly; her siblings, Joy Brown, Tom (Jincy) Snell, Jerrilyn Kelley, Kenneth (Susan) Snell, David (Jane) Snell, and Jonathan (Lea) Snell; in-laws, Lou Ann (Frank) Black and Phil (Liz) Brantly; and numerous other family members and friends she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; parents-in-law, S. Kermit and Ruby Brantly; sisters, Jewel Kendrick, Joan Dixon, and Jill Watson; and brothers-in-law, Ronald Kendrick, Jerry Brown, Bob Dixon, Russell Watson, and Richard Kelley.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 6, 2:00 to 4:30 p.m., at Southeastern Church of Christ, 6500 Southeastern Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46203. A funeral service will follow at 4:30 p.m. with Dr. Greg York officiating. A graveside service will be Monday, April 7, 10:00 a.m., at Orchard Hill Cemetery, Wanamaker, IN.
