James William Johnson, 86, passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016, at the Courtyards Community Living Center in Fulton . He was born October 8, 1929 to the late James Nathan Johnson and the late Alma Etta Hood Johnson in Itawamba County. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, gardening, working outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends. He accepted Christ into his life at the young age of 24.
Services will be at 11:00 am on Monday May 16, 2016 at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Lloyd Minor, Bro. Bill Adams, and Bro. Bobby Jarrell. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm on Sunday May 15, 2106 at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Betty Lou Johnson of Fulton, Son, Terry (Kristie) Johnson of Fulton, 4 Daughters, Teresa (Terry) Fortune of Fulton, Kim (Don) Wilson of Fulton, Donna (Bobby) Whitten of Mooreville, Rhonda (David) Duke of Vernon, AL, grandchildren, Dustin James (Brenteny) Fortune, Matthew David (Carol Ann) Fortune, Jennifer (Chris) Terry, James Eric (Heather) Wilson, Summer (Ben) Wilemon, Lacey (Kyle) Underwood, Stacey Johnson, Lindsay Armstrong, Austin (Chelsea Crews) Johnson, Jacob Armstrong, J.T. Johnson, Nicole Duke, Priscilla Duke, Dawn Duke, David Duke, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 9 brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be Joey Johnson, Billy Johnson, Terry Swindol, Johnny Wilson, David Wilson, Willis Miller.
