James Wesley MaddoxWe regret to announce the passing of James Wesley Maddox, of Elkmont, Alabama, who passed away peacefully on November 01, 2024, at his home.

James was born June 19, 1931, to the late Mr. Frank Maddox and Mrs. Johnny Lou Owen Maddox in Taft, Tennessee.

Mr. Maddox spent the majority of his life in Elkmont where he was a Parts Manager at Bill Penny Toyota for 29 years. He proudly served in the Air Force.

In his free time, James enjoyed mowing the grass and spending time with his family. James always loved teasing folks, playing cards, and attending auctions. James loved traveling as well. He was a faithful member of Taft Church of Christ.

James was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn Wales Maddox, both his parents, two brothers, Owen Maddox and Mickey Maddox, one sister, Louise Thompson, and an Infant son Maddox.

He is survived by one son, Raborn Maddox, two daughters, Kay (Dale) Coffman of Athens, Alabama, Lea Ann (Charlie) Coffman of Athens, Alabama. Five grandchildren, Jeremy Coffman, Cody (Lindsey) Coffman, Charles (Chelsea) Maddox, Susan (Joe) Patterson, Amanda (Jason) Burgett, fourteen great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home on Sunday, November 3, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM. A Chapel Service will follow directly afterwards at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Bro. Carl Witty will officiate the service.

Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
