James W. (Jimmy) McCarley – Obituary

James W. (Jimmy) McCarley born August 27, 1943, passed away at this Hartselle residence the 31st day of August, 2015 at 10:05 PM.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James C. McCarley, Gertie White McCarley and step-mother: Ola Mae Hardin McCarley.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 52 Years: Kay Anders McCarley of Hartselle, two sons: Mike McCarley and his wife Robbyn, and Steve McCarley and his wife Angie, and one sister, Sue McCarley, all of Falkville, four grandchildren: Paige Bailey and husband, Matthew, Kayla Scombok, Myka McCarley and James Christian McCarley.

Jimmy worked at Wolverine Tube in Decatur, Alabama, as an overhead crane operator for forty years before retiring in 2004. He was an avid Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves fan. As a member of Lebanon Baptist Church, he was a driver for the bus ministry when the church sponsored it.

Jimmy enjoyed his years as a Hospice of the Valley volunteer (after retirement) until poor health prevented his participation.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 3, hours 6:00 -8:00 PM, at Peck Funeral Home, Hartselle, Alabama. Funeral Services will be in the Peck Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, September 4th at 11:00 AM. Interment and graveside service will follow at Lebanon Baptist Church cemetery in Falkville, Alabama. Lebanon pastor, Dr. Randy Ashley and long time friend, Bro. A.Ray Lee will officiate for the services.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Bailey, Christian McCarley, Jerry Miller, Heath Miller, Ronnie Walker and Virgil White.
