James Van Heron 59, of Priceville passed away Wednesday June 26, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Heron was born June 16, 1960 in Birmingham, Alabama to Douglas and Lucretia Heron. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a Graduate Auburn University where received a Masters in Microbiology. He began his career with American Maze which later became Cargill retiring after 29 years, he also worked for Par Pharmaceuticals in Huntsville and taught Microbiology at Calhoun. Mr. Heron is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Melissa Shaw Heron; one son Ethan James Heron; two brothers, Harold Heron and Steven Heron; one sister, Michelle Heron Sewell. Visitation will be Saturday June 29, 2019 from 1:30pm until 3:00pm at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with a service following at Hartselle Heritage Chapel with Reverend Keith Beatty officiating. Burial will follow Sunday at 2:00pm at Memorial Park Cemetery in Auburn, Alabama. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the James Heron Scholarship fund for deserving students at Auburn University from Priceville, Alabama.
