James Terry Wheeler We regret to announce the passing of James Terry Wheeler, of Ardmore, Tennessee, who passed away peacefully on August 20, 2024, at Athens Limestone Hospital in Athens, Alabama.

Terry was born June 16, 1946, to the late Mr. James I. Wheeler and Mrs. Virginia Holder Wheeler in Giles County Tennessee.

He spent the majority of his life in Pulaski and Ardmore, Tennessee where he was a Tool & Die Maker. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of First Baptist Church of Athens, Al.

Exposed to agent orange in Vietnam, a rare cancer developed. The treatment saved his life but took his sight. Terry developed a deep, abiding faith, inspiring others with courage and hope. In his free time, Terry was an avid reader, who listened to books after his blindness and also loved country music.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother- Jerry Wheeler and nephew Bill Horne.

He is survived by his wife Peggy Broadway Wheeler, one sister – Sandra (Rusty) Horne, two grandchildren, Jacob Campbell, Justus Campbell, two great grandchildren Bryson Campbell and Brantley Mullins. two nieces, Stratton Beard, Sloan (David) Lake, three great-nieces Anslee, Addie, Camryn, two great nephews, CJ and Jack.

A Graveside Service will be on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 4:00 PM at Gatlin Cemetery. Rev. Debbie Eubanks and Andy Hall will officiate the service.

Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
