James T. Posey (Jim), age 65, of Birmingham, Ala., passed away on Oct.10, 2012. He retired after 39 years as a journeyman electrician with the IBEW Local 136. Jim was a beloved husband, dad (Diddy), uncle, Paw-Paw, and friend. He was a hard working man who took pride in his work. He loved playing with his grandchildren, singing, Alabama football and Nascar. He was a member of Cathedral of the Cross (Huffman Assembly) for many years, where he sang in the choir. The Healing Place was his current church home. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jane and John Thomas Posey. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sylvia; son, James Keith (Denise); daughter, Kim Hutchens; (Brent); grandchildren, Bella, Jack, Micah, unborn grandson, Kelsey, Hunter, Cody and Sophie Jane; nieces and nephews, David Stone (Tina), Holly Ray (Shane), Dolly Gaines (Steve) and their children, Jordan, Ashton, Drey, Austin, Macy and Jim (named after his Paw-Paw); and numerous friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home. Services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, at noon at Jefferson Memorial Chapel.
