James Steven (Jimmy) Robertson

Mr. James Steven (Jimmy) Robertson, 70, of Scottsboro, AL, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 18, 2021.

Having a love for journalism, he landed his first job in newspaper as a sports reporter for the Daily Sentinel while still in high school. His career with Southern/Hartman Newspapers spanned 37 years, publishing papers throughout Central and East Texas. In 2005, he retired and headed back to “Sweet Home Alabama” where he has spent the last 16 years watching Alabama football, spoiling grandchildren, and getting reacquainted with old friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Hulsey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of service.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Stacey Robertson of Fountain Inn, SC, sons, Brett (Tricia) Robertson of Huntsville, AL and Collin (Tabitha) Robertson of Longview, TX; grandchildren, Chase Miller “Lil Buddy” and Evelyn Robertson “Eggo”; sister, Carolyn (Michael) Drain; and niece, Christa (Scott) Drewry.

He was preceded in death by his nephew, Bryan Drain and parents, James W. and Allie Ruth Robertson.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
