Mr. Bates, who died Sunday, June 11, 2023, in Decatur, was born March 30, 1963, to Kenneth and Patricia Bates . He was preceded in death by his father.

Scott retired from General Electric, was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, and was an Alabama Football fan.
