James Roy Walker, age 85, of Florence, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013. Memorial services will be held private.
James was predeceased by his parents, James L. Walker and Clyde Lorene Walker.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise Stanford Walker; one son, James R. Walker Jr. and wife, Holly; three daughters, Brenda Medley, Carole “Cookie” Michelsen and husband, Gary, and Marcia Ellis and husband, George III; seven grandchildren, Brent Medley, Kimberly Craft and husband, Stefan, Brooke Edie and husband, Rob, George Ellis IV and wife, Amy, Cy Ellis and wife, Mollie, Meghan Walker and Houston Walker; seven great-grandchildren, Chase Edie, Layne Edie, Allysia Edie, Julia Edie, Kaitlin Craft, Jaxan Craft and Zoë Ellis; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Walker served in the United States Navy during World War II.
