James (Ronnie) Blanton was born July 28, 1942 in Shelby County, TN the son of the late J.C. and Joyce Guyton Blanton.
He was united in marriage to Doris Barber Blanton, and unto their union four daughters were born, Ronnell, Cherry, Selena and Jessica. Doris preceded him in death on September 9, 1998. On October 1, 2005, he married Patsy Whitaker.
Mr. Blanton was the owner of Blanton Saw Service, co-owner of Southwestern LTD with Patsy Blanton, and had worked at the family business of B & B Construction. He was a member and Deacon of the West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville, Tennessee. He loved his church and his church family. He enjoyed family gatherings and talking on the CB radio, his handle was “FlyinTiger.”
Mr. Blanton departed this life on June 6, 2016 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 73 Years, 10 Months, 9 Days. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Whitaker Blanton of Stantonville, TN; four daughters, Ronnell Gibbs and husband Danny of Crump, TN, Cherry Blanton of Germantown, TN, Selena Blanton of Stantonville, TN, Jessica Barnes and husband Willie of Adamsville, TN; stepson, Tommy Jones of Orlando, FL; two sisters, Angela Grills of Hollywood, FL, Kathy Robertson of Adamsville, TN; a brother, Kerry Blanton of Savannah, TN; seven grandchildren, Wynter Walker, Landon Walker, Justin Dickey, Dreyton Barnes, Talisa Blanton, Tyler Gibbs, Carianna Blanton; seven great grandchildren.
