James Roland Baird, age 88, of Double Springs, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Lakeland Community Hospital in Haleyville, Alabama.
He was born on March 3, 1936 in Double Springs to Willie and Ala Bee Baird. James was the director of Mainstreet ministries and the food bank. He was willing to help anyone in need. James was a very active member of his church, and also did work for the government by writing manuals for rockets and missiles.
A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Double Springs, Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 12:00p.m.
James is survived by his sister, Tammy Green; nephew, Sean (Missy) Hudson; grandniece, Josie Hudson; and a host of cousins, family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Lee and Ala Bee Baird; brother, Walter Lee Baird.
