James Rodger Sneed, Sr. 65, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at the New Albany Health and Rehab center. A Pontotoc native and longtime resident, He was born September 2, 1951 to James Y. Sneed an Barnie McVay Sneed Gann. He worked as a vault setter for Wilbert for over 15 years. James enjoyed motorcycles and was an avid drag racing fan.
A celebration of James’ life will be held at 1 PM Friday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Richard Franklin officiating. The family will visit with friends 30 minutes prior to the service. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
James leaves behind his wife of 22 years, Rebecca Sneed of Pontotoc; his son, Junior Sneed and daughter Buffie Hendrix, both of Pontotoc; his brothers and sisters, Kim Allen (Charles), Mickie Criddle (Glenn), Gail Wooten (Charlie), Sandra Hill (Roy), all of Houston and Vickie Berry (Lloyd) of Tennessee; his mother, Barnie Gann (Momma Dock); 7 grandchildren, Marika Loden (Matt), Krista Ward (Sonny), Anna-Brooke Kimble (Will), Kelsey Wood, Jana Sneed, Jade Kimble, and Brody Sneed; 4 great-grandchildren, Alex Loden, Izy Belle Ward, Jake Loden and Trace Matkins; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; 2 daughters, Melissa Sneed and Michelle Wood; and 2 brothers, Gary Gann and Malcolm Gann.
