James Robert (Jimmy) McLain, age 73, of Toone, departed this life Thursday, November 3 at his home.

The husband of Pamela Kontos McLain, who survives, he worked as an electrician, most recently with Hornsby Electric for 15-20 years, prior to his retirement in 2011. He was born April 28, 1943 in Bolivar, son of the late Robert Tate McLain and Sue Evelyn Hughes McLain and lived most of his life here. He enjoyed gardening and growing flowers and going to casinos. Mr. McLain joined Parrans Chapel Baptist Church in his youth.

In addition to his wife, whom he married on November 28, 1988, survivors include a son, Cory McLain of Toone; three sisters, Shirley Milford (Ray) of Stantonville, Elizabeth Rutledge of Somerville and Frances Johnson of Bolivar; a grandson, Thomas; 6 nieces and 3 nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Arthur McLain; a brother, Jack McLain; his mother in law, Frances Louise Kontos; and a nephew, Mike Rutledge.
