James Richard Enlow, 70, resident of the Tiplersville Community and Vietnam War Veteran, passed away peacefully Monday November 6, 2017 at the Cornerstone Health & Rehabilitation Center in Corinth following a nineteen month illness.
Private Family Services are planned. The Ripley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Born February 5, 1947 in Jackson, MS, he is the son of Florence Siuda Enlow of Hernando and the late James Wheeler Enlow. Mr. Enlow was a 1965 graduate of Valley High School in Louisville, KY and served his country on the aircraft carrier, USS Hancock during the Vietnam War. In earlier years he was employed by Montgomery-Ward Corporation and also owned and operated the Enlow firearm shop in California before his retirement in 2000.
On September 27, 2016 he married the former Connie Dooley of Oxford, who survives.
A Chiristian, Mr. Enlow will be remembered for his love of World War II history, watching documentaries on TV and fishing. He enjoyed cooking and always “experimenting” with new recipes.
Those also left to honor his memory include his daughter, Pam Devore (Fray) of Atlanta, GA, a sister, Carol Cecil of Hernando and two brothers, Chris Enlow (Marsha) of Memphis, TN and David Enlow of Indianapolis, IN.
The American Flag at The Ripley Funeral Home entrance honors Mr. Enlow and all Veterans for their service to our Country…GOD BLESS AMERICA!!
