James Richard Dison – Obituary

James Richard Dison, age 80 of Elkmont, Alabama passed away on Thursday, October27, 2016 at his home. Mr. Dison was born on May 23, 1936 to Hershel and Dovie Harbin Dison in Elkmont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Herman Dison, and a son, Danny Ray Dison, a granddaughter, Jessica Nixon, and an infant great-grandson.

Mr. Dison is survived by his wife, Mary Alice Dison; daughters, Mary Etta Crosby, Martha Jean Wright and husband Jimmy, Patricia Darlene Craig, Ginger Lynn Dison, and Mary Jane Wiley and husband Jeff; sons, Bobby Ray Dison and wife Debbie, George Wayne Dison, and James Wesley Dison; 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild; one brother, George Junior Dison; sisters, Sue Newton, and Cindy Gordon, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Services for Mr. Dison will be held Monday, October 31, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Wendell White and George Junior Dison officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 PM on Sunday, October 30, 2016 at Limestone Chapel. Burial will be in Cross Key Cemetery.

Pallbearers are grandson, Jason Dement, Aaron Craig, Wesley Craig, Joey Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Coy Dison, and honorary pallbearer BJ Jarrett.

Mr. Dison loved to buy, sell, and trade all kinds of interesting things. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and especially loved running beagle dogs.
