Funeral for James Reaneau Vess, 47, of Moulton will be Saturday, August 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Ashley and Bro. Darrel Latham officiating. Burial will be in Old Town Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mr. Vess, who died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, was born September 16, 1965, in Lawrence County to Jesse Marion Vess and Hilda Mae Hood Bradford. He was a laborer for the Lawrence County Exchange. Reaneau was an usher and member of Landersville Praise and Worship. He was preceded in death by his father, Jesse Marion Vess; half brothers, Rayburn Vess and Hershel Vess; and half sisters, Gladys Guthrie Glenice Stricklin.
Survivors include his mother, Hilda Mae Hood Bradford of Moulton; four brothers, Dewayne Vess (Pat) and Tim Vess, both of Moulton, Donne Vess (Debra) of Town Creek and Gary Vess (Stephanie) of Russellville; one sister, Carolyn Borden (Robert) of Town Creek; four half brothers, Curtis Vess of LaGrange, Gerald Vess, Ray Vess and Harold Vess, all of Moulton; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Lamar Vess, Chris Vess, Justin Vess, Tracy Borden, Jessie Borden, Jamie Smith, Jason Smith and Donnie Jones.
