We regret to announce the passing of James Raymond Smith, age 90, who passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024, in Athens, Alabama.
In his free time, Mr. James enjoyed reading the bible, watching westerns, and Sunday Services which brought him joy and relaxation. He was also a member of Heavens Way Baptist Church.
James Raymond Smith is survived by his children Thomas Smith, Phillip (Cynthia) Smith, Sheila (Charlie) Swann, Helen (Ed) Bullock, Brenda Smith, and two sisters, Betty Stallions and Peggy Sullivan ,14 grandchildren, as well as 6 great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at Heavens Way Baptist Church located at 3777 Ready Section Road, Ardmore, Alabama 35739 on July 21, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
Heavens Way Baptist Church will be accepting donations on behalf of James Smith.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home will be assisting the family with services.
