James Raymond Evans, 53, of Mentone, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at his home. He was born May 14, 1970 in New York to the late James Rayford Evans and Betty Ann Ryan Evans.
A memorial service is planned for 4 p.m. Sunday at Wilson Funeral Home in Fort Payne with Rodney Carver and Jim Blaylock officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. hour of service.
He is survived by his mother Emily Compito; sister Debra Warszycki and family; brother Larry O’Tinger; children Chad Evans and Sara Evans, Michael Zuber, Levi and Jordan Hulgan, and Autumn and Noah Hall; grandchildren Nickales and Ryan Evans, Kaitlyn Johnson, Embry Zuber, Lydia Zuber, Aace Zuber, Hadley Gregory, Harper Gregory, John Alan Hall, Sarah Ruth Hall, Ivey Hall, and Sophie Hulgan; aunts Norma Ramsey, Freida Shavers, Myrtle Shugart, and Brenda Beeler; several nieces and nephews and cousin Lynn Carver and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rayford Evans and Betty Ann Evans, grandmother Angelina Compito and grandfather Arthur Compito.
Wilson Funeral Home and Crematory of Fort Payne is in charge of arrangements.
