James Randall Michael, 73, of Tuscumbia, AL, made his transition to heaven on Monday, September 9, 2024. His visitation will be Wednesday, September 11, from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Greg Woodall officiating. Interment will be in Barton Cemetery, Cherokee.
For the past four years, Randall spent his days at home after surviving 222 days in the hospital from Covid. Doctors declared he was at death’s door time after time, yet Randall proved the power of never giving up. And he fought with every thing inside of him up until he took his last breath.
Randall was known for his huge heart to help others. He was always willing to give of himself to help anyone in need. He served as a proud member of the U.S. NAVY and loved his country.
Randall accepted the call to preach the gospel at an older age, and faithfully lived out that calling no matter if it was behind a pulpit or working on a car. He used his business that he founded, Randall’s Collision Center, to not just fix broken vehicles, but he used every opportunity to also help fix broken hearts that may walk through his doors.
Randall loved his family more than anything. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Kathy Michael. She was his world and the love of his life. He loved her up until he took his last breath. He also leaves behind his daughters, Stacy Fulton (Ron) and Christie Ezell (Gerald). His daughters were the apple of his eye, and he loved them well.
He leaves behind three grandsons, Jeremiah Fulton, Charlie Fulton (Megan) and Taylor Fulton (Lindsey), along with two granddaughters, Hanna Kelsoe (Ethan) and Carly Ezell (Brody).
He also is survived by his sisters, Diane Richardson, Janice Davis (Keith) and Pat Reece; and his brothers, Jerry Michael, Jack Michael (Pam). There are also lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.
Randall was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Bera Michael; brother, Dennis Michael; and sister, Debbie Bradford.
Pallbearers will be Ron Fulton, Gerald Ezell, Jeremiah Fulton, Charlie Fulton, Taylor Fulton, Ethan Kelsoe, and Brody Dexter. Honorary pallbearers are Charles Michael, Jeffrey Smallwood, and Jimmy Quick.
The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Gentiva Hospice. They would like to especially thank one of the nurses (Michelle) for the way she became personally invested in their lives and loved their dad so well.
They would also like to thank everyone who has prayed for Randall and their family these past few years.
