James Raleigh (J.R.) Wilson James Raleigh Wilson (J.R.), born August 4th, 1940, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 at the age of 83. He was a loving and caring husband, father, Papa/Hoho to his grandchildren, and a member of Bluff Springs Church of Christ. J.R. was a veteran of the U.S Army, serving three years with training in cryptography. After returning home from Germany he married his wife of 59 years, Patricia Wilson. J.R. had a 22-year career in tool making/engineering, working with Gabriel (Arvin). He loved traveling, being a practical jokester, and woodworking.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:30pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.
The funeral service will follow at 1:30pm on Saturday, May 18th, 2024 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home with Randal Jones officiating.
The Burial will take place at Indian Creek Cemetery in Giles County.

In lieu of flowers, J.R. had requested that donations be made to their favorite veteran support charities, such as the Wounded Warrior Project and/or Disabled Veterans.

He was preceded in death by wife, Patricia Wilson, parents Jesse Raleigh and Sibyl Shearer Wilson, and brother, Jerry Shearer Wilson (Dixie).

Survivors are children Mark (Liza) Wilson of Arizona, David (Jennifer) Wilson of Lynnville, and Gail (John) Bowles of Pulaski. Sister, Rebecca (John) Lee Alford of Florida. Grandchildren Shelby (Trey) Pewitt of Columbia, Landon Wilson of Lynnville, Chaiya (Dylan) Wimber of Utah, Maliea Wilson, Quayde Wilson/Calahen, Alex Bowles of Pulaski, many great grandchildren, and special friend Chris Jessop, of Pulaski.
