James R. Larson, 80 of Elkmont, passed away on Tuesday, May 9th, 2023, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Mr. Larson was born on July 2nd, 1942, in Carroll, Iowa, to Ray C. Larson and V. Margaret Linden Larson.
Mr. Larson is survived by his wife of 18 years, Sarah Larson; children Vicky Turner (Larry) of Loneoak, Texas, Paula Justice (Mark) of Harvest, Alabama, and Susan Donald (Sean) of Springville, Alabama; grandchildren Alex, Jack, Kelcy, Logan, Donovan, and Sarah-Faith; brother Ross Larson (Kate) of Des Moines, Iowa; sister Avis Goldy (Richard) of Sugarland, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and nephew Greg Goldy.
A graveside service for Mr. Larson will be Monday, May 15th, 2023, at 11:00am at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mr. Larson’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
