James R. Brown was born February 12, 1933 in Bethel Springs, TN the son of the late John Calvin and Maudie Griswell Brown. He was united in marriage to Faye Robinson on June 8, 1957. He was Baptist in faith. He also served our country proudly in the U.S. Airforce as a Propeller Specialist and was honored twice as Airman of the Month while stationed in Puerto Rico. He served his country during war-time in Puerto Rico. He had an honorable discharge in the rank as a Non Commissioned Officer of Staff Sergeant. James previously worked with Ford Motor Company in Lorain, OH. He later was an Electrician and was lead maintenance for Haywood Park Hospital in Brownsville, TN in the late 60’s and early 70’s. He then became a self-employed Electrician and Plumber before retiring.
Mr. Brown departed this life on August 27, 2016 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 83 Years, 6 Months, 15 Days.
He is survived by his wife Faye Brown of Adamsville, TN; two daughters, Darlene Schutt and husband Tommy of Collierville, TN, Debra Stinson of Collierville, TN; a son, Eddie Brown of Adamsville, TN; a sister, Bess Siler of Brownsville, TN; seven grandchildren: Chris McCage of Oakland, TN, Ginny Wiggins of Selmer, TN, Stephen Stinson of Dickson, TN, Brandon Brown and wife Lora of Adamsville, TN, Ben Brown of Florence, AL, David Thomas of Lexington, TN; eight great grandchildren: Zach McCage, Isabella McCage, Lindsey Wiggins, Landon Wiggins, Raeleigh Brown, Rudy Brown, Raegan Brown and Kyla Elizabeth Stinson; two honorary great grandchildren, Lee and Trey Damron.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a son, David Ray Brown; his siblings: Albert Ray Brown, Betty Ann Smith, George C. “Pete” Brown, Curtis H. Brown and Delma Garner.
