James Pete Rouse , 77, of Lester, Alabama, passed away on March 28th, 2024. He was born on May 9th, 1946, in Alabama, to Ollie and Mary (Johnson) Rouse.
Mr. Rouse is survived by his spouse Martha Thompson of Lester, AL; son Ronald Rouse (Cynthia) of Lester, AL; daughter Penny McElyea of Athens, AL; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers Wayne, Alfred, Billy, and Leroy; stepchildren Shaun of Athens, AL and April of Athens, AL.
Mr. Rouse is preceded in death by his parents Ollie and Mary Rouse; brother Lawrence Rouse; sisters Ollie Mae Wallace, Nita Vaughn Wallace, and Catherine Craig.
The funeral for Mr. Rouse will be Monday, April 1st, 2024, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 11:00 a.m., with Noah Hicks officiating. Visitation will be Monday, April 1st, from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m., at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Michael Rouse, Hayden Carroll, Brandon Rouse, Austin Thompson, Jamie Rouse, and Logan Carroll. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Carroll and Noah Carroll. Burial will be at Elk River Mills Memorial.
Mr. Rouse loved his gourd bird house for his Martin birds and working with wood.
