Mr. James Paul English, age 82 of Cordova, formerly of Bolivar, departed this life Thursday morning, August 8, 2013 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – East in Memphis.
He was born in Michie, Tennessee April 21, 1931 to the late Hermie and Leiler Farris English and grew up there. On May 10, 1962, he was united in marriage to Kathryn English, who preceded him in death February 7, 2010. He lived in Bolivar for about 30 years and worked for the Sheriff’s Department, from which he retired after 17 years of service. He then went to work at Dover Elevators and retired after working there for 13 years. He was a “people person” and “selling” was his hobby. He used to own English’s Market on Old Highway 64 in Bolivar. He was Baptist in faith and was a member of Shandy Baptist Church.
Mr. English is survived by a daughter, Jeanne Bowers of Hershey, Pennsylvania; a son, Mark English of Cordova, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Nicholas and Lauren English and Norman Russell; and four great-grandchildren, Harley, Eli, Annabelle, Savannah and one on the way.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a sister and three brothers.
