James Oscar Applewhite

Age 76 of White House went home to be with the Lord Monday, June 21, 2021 at his home. He was born October 7, 1944 in Athens, GA to James Oscar Applewhite, II and Miriam Beckwith Applewhite. He worked as a civil engineer for TVA until his retirement. Mr. Applewhite proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam and was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hendersonville. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lynda Applewhite, White House, TN; son, Kevin (Sarah) Applewhite, Belmont, Massachusetts; daughter, Kelly (Tim) Amyx, White House, TN; brother, Gary (Janice) Applewhite, Salisbury, NC; sister, Ann (John) Clifford, Newport News, VA; 2 grandchildren, Ryan Applewhite and Jason Applewhite. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be scheduled in the near future and this obituary will be updated when those arrangements are finalized.
