James Oliver Lawson 84, of Guntersville, passed away Sunday August 4, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital with his loving family by his side.
James is survived by the love of his life Dorothy “Dot” Lawson of 62 years, and had two children; son James Brad Lawson (Jana) and daughter Janet Lawson Cox “Jan” (Lee), brother Verbon Lawson (Virginia) and sister Lou Walker, James also had six grandchildren: Cameron Cox (Abby), Clayton Cox (Nicole), Anna Catherine Mount (Jake), Mckaela Conner, Kyle Lawson (Destiny), and John Conner Lawson (Alana) along with seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer “Rip” Lawson and Mary “Lizzy” Jarmon, brothers, Bill Lawson and George Lawson, and sisters, Edna Merle Alexander, Bobbie Alexander, and Dorothy Wallace.
The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at Carr Funeral Home with the service following in the chapel at 2:00PM. Mr. Lawson will be laid to rest at Crestview Cemetery.
