James Oliver "J.O." Wallace James Oliver “J.O.” Wallace, 82, of Ardmore, Alabama passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, at his home. He was born Sunday, June 9, 1940, in Woodville, Alabama to Oliver Bedford Wallace and Annie Mae Wright Wallace.

“J.O.” has lived here the majority of his life and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Trustee. He enjoyed helping fellow members of the community and his church ramp crew. He was a woodworker and craftsman, enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping with his family, and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Edward Wallace, Leonard Wallace, and Charles Wallace; sister, Juanita Combs; nephews, Wayne Wallace, Mark Wallace, and Marty Combs.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wallace; son, James Gregory Wallace; daughter, Melody Herron; grandchildren, Paige Bradford (James), Andrew Herron (Madison), Sharon Wallace, and Bladen Wallace; great grandchildren, Jaxon, Xavier, and Nora James; and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 1st, 2023, from 12 noon – 2:00 PM at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.

The Funeral Service will be Sunday, January 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro Lynn Marshall, Bro. Adam Mikel and Allen Fomby officiating. Burial will follow in Gatlin Cemetery.

In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to North Alabama Hospice.
