James Noel Linam was born on January 6, 1946 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the son of the late Lawrence Wayne and Martha Aida Kelly Linam.

On December 22, 1967, he was united in marriage to Cassandra Sue Clay, who survives.

Mr. Linam honorably served his country in the United States Army. He worked in the powerhouse at Packaging Corporation of America in Counce, Tennessee for 35 years. He was a member Woodmen of the World, VFW of Savannah, and American Legion in Savannah. He was also a member of Savannah Church of Christ, where he often spent time serving in the church and at Love and Learn. Noel was an avid reader and enjoyed doing yard work, gardening, serving fellow veterans, carpentry work, designing, playing sports, going on family beach trips, and spending time with his grandchildren.

James Noel Linam departed this life on November 10, 2023 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 4 days.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Cassandra Sue Linam of Savannah, Tennessee; daughters, Shelley Linam Nance and her husband David of Brentwood, Tennessee and Tabitha Noel Philpott and her husband Greg of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers, Eddie Linam and his wife Nancy, Don Linam and his wife Ila Jane, Charles Linam, and David Linam and his wife Lynette, all of Savannah, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Sarah Noel Riley, Michael Nance, Grace Philpott, Nathan Nance, Kathleen Nance, and John David Nance.
