James Newton “Jack” Woodard, age 87, passed away December 30, 2021 at his home in Lynnville. Jack was born October 19, 1934 to the late James Dawson and Effie Lou Compton Woodard. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, where he served as an Airplane Mechanic. He was retired from Timken, served as an Elder in the Church of Christ, as a Giles County Commissioner for 16 years, and as the head of the Lynnwood Cemetery Board. Jack was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Beverly Woodard. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Alice Ervin Woodard of Lynnville, his son, Jack Woodard and wife Marsha of Lynnville, his daughters, Annette Edwards and husband Jackie of Pulaski and Karen Dunnivant and husband Terry of Lewisburg, his brother, Jerry Woodard and wife Alpha of Gallatin, his sisters, Lillian Fox and husband Sam of Diana, Mildred Story and husband Don of Lynnville, and Margaret Helton of Columbia, his grandchildren, Daniel Woodard, Matthew Woodard and wife Shanna, Chase Edwards and wife Monica, Amanda Gordon and husband Stephen, Cameron Edwards, Carson Edwards, Ashton Edwards, and Dustin Dickey, and his 9 great grandchildren. Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2022 at Carr & Erwin Funeral Home, where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 3, 2022. Burial to follow at Lynnwood Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Lynnwood Cemetery or Robertson Fork Church of Christ.
